Annex Off-Leash Dog Parks...more on the Update

A little update to our June 5th posting about dog parks in the area...

As a reiteration, there will be a meeting Tuesday, June 10th, 7 pm, Royal Ketchum Hall, Royal St. George's College to discuss the creation of Off Leash Areas in St. Alban's Square (at Barton between Howland and Albany) and in the Huron Street Playground (Southeast corner of Lowther and Huron).

The link to the Annex Dog Owners group didn't work, I just noticed. It's fixed now. As well, I've learned of another online petition, this one about St. Alban's Square not being the site of an enclosed leash-free dog area.

Whatever your opinion, I would recommend reading some of the views expressed by the different interest groups involved. I fully admit that I changed my opinion about the issue after doing so.

And I sincerely hope that the June 10th meeting remains calm and productive. There are some area residents who will not attend these types of meetings because past meetings have turned into fruitless exercises in who can shout the loudest, which wastes everyone's time and solves nothing.

Cheers,
Vanessa
