Anything, Anyone?

A friend and I are talking about getting a monthly group together. We are considering renting space in a storefront on Bathurst, south of Dupont for 2 to 3 hours. It's cheap, but it's not huge -- about 12 x 30' in the main area.
Here's her question: Should we commit to renting it every week and holding all sorts of, for lack of a better word, "get togethers" there?
Some ideas: regular clothing swaps (perhaps seasonably) to promote reuse and recycling; a place for people with big projects to work on them, as well as a set time (in other words, a place to tackle a big job that just wouldn't fit in your living room). Or an evening devoted to chit chat and recipe swapping... the list of possibilities is endless! Or is it?
Our question to you: Does this interest anyone? What other kinds of activities could we do there? Having you been saying for awhile "I'd like to start a monthly _____ group"?
Please drop me a line, or leave a comment.
Cheers,
Vanessa
