Eye Candy Friday

Much as I TRY to hate winter, it does offer up some stark scenes of beauty occasionally, such as this just-after-dawn shot of the moon that I snapped this week.

There's certain richer colours in winter that I love, too, and that you just can't find in July and August.
Deeper, almost less gaudy, I would say.

Eye Candy Friday

Well, it's been dark and gloomy for many days now. The holidays are over. I've turned one year older. Winter stretches in front of us, seemingly with no end in sight... is it any wonder that this time of year I like to cruise cottage rental sites?
With that in mind, here's a pic I took at last summer's rental.
Seems a long way off...
However, I must remind myself that, most days, it rained and was cold at this place. And that winter's not SO bad when the sun is shining!

Eye Candy Friday -- When Seasons Collide

This isn't the prettiest shot, but there's a lot going on! And I think it sums up the messy, glorious pastiche of yesterday when it snowed while there's still a lot of leaves on the ground AND the trees.
Of course, like clockwork, with the first snow of this season I witnessed my first car accident.
As a non-driver I ask: What is it with that? Do people forget how to drive in the snow from Spring to Winter?

It's SNOWING as I write this, so I guess this might be the last of the Fall colour eye candy pics for this year...
This was taken at the market at Markham and Bloor a week or so ago. Whenever I pass by displays like this, it's all I can do to stop myself from running my hands all over the different shapes and textures. Is veg fondling an official offence? Or is it just cause for being called weird?

We promised Eye Candy every Friday and we're delivering!

Although the weather on Hallowe'en was almost tropical, it's getting windy and nippy again. In the spirit of desperately avoiding the inevitability of leafless, sterile NOVEMBER, here's a picture that I took this week in our neighbourhood, proving that there's still plenty of summer colour out there -- you just have to search a bit harder for it!

Eye Candy... SUNDAY?!?

Ginny and I would like to include lots of interesting pics on our Blog. So feel free to send us some and we'll post them. Ones of the area are best, of course, but any great pics will do.

Usually, we'll post them on Fridays in the tradition of Eye Candy Friday. It was started by a knitting blogger (http://purlywhites.typepad.com/purly_whites/2006/07/friday_afternoo.html) as a way to break up the tedium of Friday afternoons when you're just waiting to go home for the weekend. We learned about it from another local knitting blog.

To get us started, I'll post an autumn pic. It's my absolute favourite time of year and I tend to wear my shutter finger out in October.
