Eye Candy Friday

I find that I get up earlier and earlier these days, woken up by the sun that comes into my bedroom earlier and earlier.

It's also one of the brightest times of the year in our house because the leaves aren't out on the trees yet, filtering the sunlight.

That may be one of the reasons I feel so invigorated lately, too. Call it Spring Fever!

Last weekend the early morning glow created some interesting shadow and light effects on the vase of peacock feathers in my bedroom.

Enjoy!

I love being woken in the morning by sunshine, but in the past couple of weeks I've been woken twice at 4:00am by a bird outside our window. Isn't 4:00am a bit early, even for birds??? Maybe your readers can help me identify the culprit? As far as I can remember (I'm not in the best of moods for memorizing melodies at that time of night), he sings:
Bb G Bb G Bb

on a 16th note, dotted 8th note, 8th note triplet rhythm.

Anyone know what it is, and why the heck he's singing in the dark? Both times he's stopped after about 30 minutes.
