News from the Sibelius Square Working Group

I asked Patrick Kennedy, Chair of the Sibelius Square Working Group, to give a quick update on the status of Jean Sibelius Square:

After two years in the works, and input from hundreds in the neighbourhood, the working group has completed a final draft of the Design Brief for Sibelius Square . Our neighbourhood will be testing a pilot project for community participation in park design as a result of discussions over the last year with the councillor’s office and the Parks Design department. The pilot provides for formal community input through the working group, and consultation with the larger community through community meetings. If all goes well at city hall, the RFP for Sibelius Square should be ready by the year’s end.
