MEETING TODAY (and in future): Proposed Dog Run at St. Alban's Square Park

My neighbours and I just had a letter delivered to our door... I had BLOGged about a working group of the Annex Residents Association (ARA) that is examining possible off-leash dog areas in The Annex.

According to the letter, the group is considering applying to turn the southern half of St. Alban's park into a fenced-off dog run. The park is located just south of Royal St. George's College at Barton Avenue between Albany and Howland Avenues.

The letter says that there is a "meet the community" meeting TODAY from 5 to 7 pm to gauge community opinion on the issue, though I can't find confirmation of that on the ARA website and there's no flyers announcing it that I've seen.
Apparently, there is a second meeting planned for Tuesday, June 10th at 7 pm at Royal St. George's College that will include a vote about the proposed dog run but, again, I don't see it listed anywhere.

What IS listed is the next meeting of the ARA Working Group, May 28, 7 pm, Room 114, Royal St. George's College. The meeting is open to anyone.

If you'd like to read the city's People, Dogs and Parks policy, which came into effect in July, it contains criteria for areas that may be designated as leash-free dog areas.

Cheers,
Vanessa
