Ed and Anne Mirvish Parkette

I BLOGged in January about a movement afoot to name an area parkette in honour of Ed Mirvish, best-known as the founder of Honest Ed's department store at Bathurst and Bloor.

Well, a flyer landed in my mailbox yesterday with formal notification: the city powers that be would like the parkette at the foot of Albany Avenue, adjacent to the Bathurst subway station, renamed Ed and Anne Mirvish Parkette.
