Despite all the snow (and snow, and snow and snow!), both DS and I were mentioning how spring is in the air these days.
Maybe it's the extra daylight, which will only get better after we roll the clocks forward on Sunday.
Or maybe it's just wishful thinking after being whalloped by the flu this week. Achy bones do not like trudging through snow and tippy toeing over ice...
Either way, when I think of Spring in T.O., I think of the cherry trees in High Park.
There's a string of them at the south end of the park, just north of the duck pond and the Adventure Playground, that bust out in delicious pink prettiness every year in late April/early May.
The full show only lasts for a few days -- when I took this picture last year the blooms were past their peak, but I WAS rewarded with a blanket of pearly petals to walk on.
Here's to an early spring (despite the snowstorm that's due tomorrow).
Cheers,
Vanessa
