Only last summer, after living in The Annex for eight years, did someone introduce me to Tacos El Asador. I feel like I missed out for a long time...
Located at 690 Bloor St. West, just east of Christie, the dining area is small, cramped and casual bordering on uncomfortable... you eat on picnic tables!
But the food? Ay yi yi! It's Salvadorean and they have pupusas, burritos, tostadas, tamales, guacamole to die for and more.
The best bet here is to get take out. In the warmer months, it's great to phone ahead, pick up a pile of food and dine al fresco in nearby Christie Pits.
Be warned: it's cash only. But it's ultra cheap, so a little dinero will buy you mucho food.
